Editing rough cut into final cut

Once we finished the rough cut we got comments from the class about our video. We are now trying to edit the rough into the final cut by filling in the gaps which we had missing with pieces of film we hasn't used and hopefully have a finished video. We will finish the video then next lesson add some transitions to get more of a variety to make it look less dull then it is at the moment.

Action Plan

Our action plan is to rent out the camera after half term to do some more filming of our storyline because our rough didn't make sense and we need more shots. Then the lessons after half term will be to edit our video more with the new footage in and try and fit it into the rest of our video. Also we will try and do some effects to make our video better.

Continuity

- Good continuity
- Not many comments which suggests that their was nothing wrong with it

Performance

- Good performance fits in with genre
- Looks realistic with the band

Mise-en-scene

- Good use of band and props, like the guitar and drums.
- Fits in with the genre
- People wanted to know where the clown was ( The big fan favourite )
- Costumes need work

Effects

We didn't have time to create any effects

Editing

- Slow editing
- But some did say that it did fit into the genre.
- Bit boring- because the shots are slow which means it's not as exciting as if it would of been with fast shots.

Camerawork

-Not much variety of shots
-Not many critiscm of shots so we think thats a postitive.
-Fish eye shot got praised.

rough cut

Filming in Burwell

We filmed in Burwell to get our story part of the music video. It didn't go quite to plan because we didn't get enough shots and when we got our main location the camera ran out of battery and we weren't near a elcetricty supply to finsih so we couldn't do any more filming then harry and mitch had to go home. But we did get some shots with the main character sleeping and waking up as part of our story. We got shots of the character washing his face and just walking and moping around but that was about it because we ran out of time and battery.

Target

We are on target for our filming after we filmed the band shots and now all we have to do now is do the filming of the storyline in the village of Burwell and that should be the filming done.

Filming at studio

We all met up to go to a studio to film the band part of the music video. The first problem we encountered was how small the studio was, it was a good place to film but too small because we couldn't get the whole band in the shot. But the the positives were that we had the instruments and we could get all kinds of differet shots, like close ups of the drums and close ups of the base player and the lead singer. Another positive was that we had a big mirror which we could use to get a reflection shots of the band whcih is unique and would help boost up our different kind of shots. We filmed for about an hour and got 20 minutes worth of footage which is more than enough to get a wide range of shots.
